 Now it is time to add
 a black background.
 Select SELECT ->
           DESELECT
 or press 
 control+D keys.

 Click on the CREATE
 NEW LAYER button.

 Layer 2 appears
 above Layer 1.
 Not good. 

 Drag Layer 2 below
 Layer 1 and fill it with
 Black. Much better!
